At long last we have done it! We paved our driveway entrances to allow for gates to be installed. This was a crucial step in the process of fencing in the whole property since without gates there would be no use for the fence!

The process of paving only took a couple days total and worked out pretty well. It was around 10k, but of course the gates are extra. The cement was poured on top of a rebar and asphalt foundation about 4 inches thick. Now we can actually fence in the entire property!
The pesky deer coming to eat our lovely garden plants were driving my mom absolutely crazy. The neighbor’s dogs always come to visit and go potty in our yard because I guess they like it better over here… Not to mention all the people driving up and down our driveway to make a U-turn at the end of our street! It was really getting to be too much. But now we can have privacy and safety.

Our dog Laska can also be kept inside the property boundaries so she doesn’t go running out into the road or onto our neighbor’s land. She has made a lot of friends in the neighborhood that way but sometimes it can be dangerous if a neighbor isn’t so keen on having her over or if she runs out in front of a car. She isn’t fixed either so we wouldn’t want any unexpected puppies to come out of that situation!
